Narrative Therapy
Problems have a way of leaving people feeling out of control. Like many therapies Narrative Therapy is respectful and non-blaming but it also recognises people as experts on their own life and seeks to put people in touch with who they are (beliefs, skills & competencies) and what they value.
Narrative therapy invites you to rethink the way you have come to talk about your life or an experience you have had. It asks you to take a step back from and separate yourself from the problem(s) you are experiencing and start deciding what you take forward and what you leave behind.
We all have many stories to tell. Narrative therapy recognises there are many ways of telling the same story and that people often seek help when they need to start telling their stories in ways that are more helpful to them. Narrative therapy is central to the way I work.
